American Idol alum Adam Lambert and the legendary Melissa Etheridge became the duo to watch at the GLAAD Awards in New York City this weekend. Ross Mathews hosted the event where the organization honored luminary director Ava DuVernay (Selma, A Wrinkle in Time) with the Excellence in Media Award and actress Samira Wiley (Orange Is the New Black, The Handmaid's Tale) the Vito Russo Award, given to an "LGBTQ media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting LGBTQ acceptance."

The event was loaded with star power, but it was Lambert's belting with Etheridge on her queer anthem "I'm the Only One" that really got the party started.
