Last year at this time, Adam Lambert and Queen had kicked off a massive tour. But while in lockdown, Lambert, and Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor used their phones to record a killer rendition of "We Are the Champions," retitled "You Are the Champions," and dedicated to healthcare workers around the world. Proceeds from sales of the song will go to the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund for The World Health Organization.
With Lambert in Los Angeles, May in London, and Taylor in Cornwall, the three pulled off a powerful version of the song in a video interspersed with images of those on the frontlines around the globe. From empty streets around the world to crowded hospitals, the video depicts the stark reality of the sacrifice healthcare workers make every day.
The video, directed by Drew Gleason and Tyler Macey, incorporates images of frontline workers donated by Shutterstock's videographers and photographers.
