Sean Hayes to executive-produce new show for Bravo

Bravo unveiled four pilots under consideration as primetime series at the summer Television Critics Association press tour in Hollywood on Tuesday, including a filmmaking competition with Sean Hayes, who plays the flamboyantly gay Jack on Will & Grace, on board as executive producer. Hayes will collaborate with producer Todd Milliner on underExposed, a contest in which two budding filmmakers are given the same script to shoot a four-minute short film. With a budget of $10,000, the competitors must complete the project in three days for review from a panel of expert judges.

"This is just the beginning of a long list of exciting new programs," said Jeff Gaspin, president of Bravo and executive vice president at NBC, which acquired the arts-oriented cable network last year. "Our new pilots push the concept that we're willing to be independent and experimental." The other three series in development are But I Played One on TV, a reality series in which actors attempt to work in occupations they've depicted on screen; Ready, Set, Van Gogh, an "extreme arts" competition that pits creative types against each other to complete artwork while a clock ticks; and Rewind, a biography series in which a celebrity's life story is told in reverse chronological order.
