A Texas man who
suffered severe brain damage and was left paralyzed after
a brutal gay bashing in England died last week, three years
after the attack occurred. On May 11, 2003, Martin
Salinas was stomped on and kicked near a nightclub in
Manchester's Gay Village.
Following extensive treatment, the 39-year-old
Salinas was able to return to his family home in
Texas, where he died last week of a seizure. Salinas's
family told the Manchester News that an autopsy
showed that the fatal seizure was a direct result of
brain scarring he received during the attack.
Police efforts to find Salinas's attackers
proved unsuccessful because vital
closed-circuit-television footage had been recorded over.
Salinas's friends and family hope the
investigation will now be elevated to a murder
investigation. (Sirius OutQ News)
