A former state
senator who sponsored a same-sex marriage ban has
approached Tennessee's largest gay rights advocacy group
about lobbying on its behalf, the Associated Press
reports. Jeff Miller solicited lobbying work from the
Tennessee Equality Project, which in November lost its
battle against a ballot measure banning same-sex
marriage in the state. The Equality Project would not
follow up on his offer, president Chris Sanders said.
In the November
election Tennessee voters overwhelmingly opted to support
a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage. Miller sponsored
the measure prior to his wife accusing him of
inappropriate marital conduct. (The Advocate)
