A married Australian schoolteacher was fined after pleading guilty to blackmailing a former sexual partner with a video of them engaged in sex.
David Hicks, 31, met the 29-year-old unidentified man at a public restroom in Melbourne, where they had a sexual encounter, The [Sydney] Daily Telegraph reported Thursday. After the first meeting the men met several more times, but Hicks said he eventually realized that the man was married and had a child.
"He was discreet, or discreet as one can be if you pick up someone in a public toilet," Hicks said in court, the Telegraph reported. According to Hicks's testimony, he recorded them with a camera phone having sex, then later threatened to show the video to the man's wife and post it online unless the man paid $3,000. Hicks was arrested after the man reported him to police. (The Advocate)
