The editorial
staff at The Out Traveler takes your travel needs very seriously. We
continually scour the globe on the lookout for gay,
gay-friendly or queer (in both senses of the word!) events
to put on your gay agenda.
This month, the
young at heart head for fun and games in the woods in
Maine; thousands of women sashay south to Key West, and the popcorn comes out
for Vancouver's 20th queer film
festival.
Pick of the Month
Camp Camp
August 24-31, 2008 Kezar Falls, Maine
If you'd like to relive those long summer camp days
and nights in gayer surrounds, Camp Camp
(www.campcamp.com) in rural Maine has a s'more with
your name on it. Lake swims, arts and crafts, cute
counselors, rustic cabins and 200 men and women from
all over the U.S. come to camp out in Kezar Falls.
While the cabins are indeed camp-like, the food, thankfully,
is not.

Coming Up in September:
Womenfest
September 2-6, 2008 Key West, Florida
From the welcome reception and cocktail parties to seminars
and sports tournaments, this weeklong festival
attracts a range of women to play in the Florida sun.
Lest that seem too serious, comedian Lisa Koch and
contests of the ilk of "Hot Buns" and
"Wet T-shirt" entertainingly lower the
tone. Those who prefer other kinds of watery adventures can
head out to the reefs with an all-women crew for
snorkeling and diving, clamber aboard a catamaran, or
impress the hotties from the morning's seminars by
parasailing over Pearl's women-only patio.
