The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation made a contribution of $100,000 contribution to the "Vote No on Prop 8: Equality for All" campaign, GLAAD announced Wednesday. The contribution will be an addition to in-kind services donated to the campaign to defeat California's Proposition 8 ballot proposal. Prop. 8 intends to overturn the state supreme court's decision that legalized gay marriage.

"GLAAD's board of directors and staff are proud to play our part in this vital effort to ensure that all loving and committed couples in California continue to have the protections and the security that marriage provides," Yvette Burton, cochair of GLAAD's board of directors, said in a press release.

The contribution will go to supporting public education efforts and voter outreach to defeat the proposition. (The Advocate)
