Four San Diego firefighters who allege they were sexually harassed while participating in a gay pride parade will have their complaint heard by a jury as early as Tuesday. City attorney Mike Aguirre had tried to get the sexual harassment charge thrown out on Monday, but the judge ruled that the complaint was valid and that the jury could weigh in, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
The plaintiffs participated against their will in last year's march through San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood and claim they were ogled and subjected to sexualized displays from the crowd, according to the paper. The experience, they allege, resulted in a range of health issues for them, including headaches and irritable bowel syndrome. (The Advocate)
