Out actor Ezra Miller was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment following an incident in a bar in Hilo, Hawaii over the weekend.
According to local police, the actor best known for their roles as The Flash and in the Fantastic Beasts franchise was arrested after reports of disorderly conduct at a karaoke bar. Police responded to a call on Sunday, March 27 at 11:30 p.m. over reports of an "agitated" patron who was later identified as Miller, becoming aggressive with fellow patrons, according to a news release by the Hawaii Police Department.
Miller allegedly began "yelling obscenities" at the singers. This escalated and Miller reportedly "grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts." Also according to the release, "the bar owner asked Miller to calm down several times to no avail."
They were released Monday on a $500 bond and, as of this writing, have yet to make any comment.
This is not the first time Miller has been involved in a bar incident. In April 2020, a video of them surfaced which showed the actor appearing to choke and throw a woman to the ground in a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland. Variety confirmed at the time that the incident was not a joke, as some had speculated online. According to a source at the bar, it began with Miller being approached by a group of "quite pushy" fans, causing the actor to lose their temper. Miller was escorted off the premises by bar staff.
