In an interview with the right-wing news network OANN, the founder of Gays Against Groomers, compared doctors who practice gender-affirming health care to Nazis.

"Anti-indoctrination" pundit Jaimee Michell said on a recent show that today's doctors performing gender-affirming care would shame Josef Mengele.

"What's happening now would make you know, I think Josef Mengele, I believe that was his name, you know, the Nazi doctor. He, you know, this puts him to shame," Michell said.

Mengele conducted horrific experiments on thousands of Jewish prisoners held at Auschwitz during the Holocaust.

In the interview, Michell falsely claimed that the LGBTQ+ community treats children like lab rats, Media Matters reports.

Transgender teenagers cannot undergo gender reassignment surgery in the United States until they are at least 18 years old. Instead, they are given puberty blockers with the consent and guidance of their parents.

"Mengele was known as the 'angel of death' at Auschwitz. Michell appears to know nothing of shame", said Media Matters LGBTQ+ program director Ari Drennen on Twitter along with a clip.

"You know, and right now, all anybody sees coming from, you know, the pride cult really is what I call it is just indoctrinating children and, you know, sexualizing them at drag shows," she said. "And I think that a lot of people are starting to look unfavorable unfavorably on us, just regular gay people in the community, you know, that are just gay and live our lives normally and want to be left alone and leave everyone else alone."

Coming out as a conservative is more stigmatized in today's society than coming out as gay, according to Michell.

"I mean, I am personally conservative. I've actually had an online presence as the gay who's straight on Instagram primarily for over six years. And we always like to joke - me and others that are, you know, right-wing gays - saying, like, we've come out twice now and actually coming out as conservative is much harder than coming out as gay now. It's almost like looking down upon if you don't come out as gay now, like, oh, you're just straight," she said.

This year, Gays Against Groomers and right-wing accounts like Libs of TikTok launched a campaign to oppose transitioning of trans minors. They also target drag queens and other LGBTQ+ events that involve children.

"Our community that once preached love and acceptance of others has been hijacked by radical activists who are now pushing extreme concepts onto society. Specifically targeting children in recent years," the organization's about page reads.

The group believes that grooming means anyone who is fighting for the acceptance of transgender people and also makes claims that the "alphabet religion" is indoctrinating trans adolescents.

Right-wingers often use the term "groomer" as a slur to equate LGBTQ+ identifying individuals with pedophilia.

"Our mission is twofold," Michell said during the interview. "It's to protect children, obviously, first and foremost, but also to reclaim our name."

She added, "I mean, our community has been completely hijacked by these radicals that do not represent us in any way."
