The "Fame Kills" tour, a double bill of Lady Gaga and Kanye West, has been canceled, according to tour promoter Live Nation. No official reason for the cancellation has been given.
The tour received a significant amount of attention in the days following West's outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards. The rapper took to the stage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech, grabbed the mike, and essentially said Beyonce had been robbed because she'd produced the best video of the year.
Gaga has come to West's defense in the days since, and West made the talk show rounds to apologize for the incident. But rumors about his alcohol use and need to retreat from the public eye have persisted.
Media Take Out first reported yesterday that the tour would likely be canceled. Gaga had talked at length about the tour, saying she prepared West early on that many of her fans were gay and that he'd have to be OK with that.
