Sacramento circles are buzzing with speculation whether California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger sent a coded message of "F--- you" in a veto letter to a lawmaker who allegedly told him to "kiss my gay ass" at a recent fund-raiser in San Francisco.

Assemblyman Tom Ammiano received a letter, as is customary, from the governor explaining why his bill pertaining to the Port of San Francisco was vetoed. However, the letter, dated October 12, appeared to contain an insult in acrostic style, according to the Associated Press.

"Like a find-the-word puzzle, the second message was visible by stringing together the first letter of each line down the left-hand margin," reported the AP. "It consisted of a common four-letter vulgarity followed by the letters 'y-o-u.'

A spokesman for Schwarzenegger called the letter's apparent insult a coincidence.

Ammiano heckled the governor when he made a surprise appearance at a Democratic fund-raiser in San Francisco earlier this month, when it appeared likely that Schwarzenegger would veto the proposal for a state day honoring Harvey Milk.
The freshman lawmaker shouted "you lie" to the governor and allegedly also told him to "kiss my gay ass."
