A teenager in Lansing, Mich., alleges that her school bus driver harassed her and discriminated against her on Wednesday because she is a lesbian.
The 10th-grader, Chinea Larkin, provided her account of the incident to WLNS-TV.
"When I got off the bus, I stood up and was about to get off the bus, she was like, now you can get your gay self off my bus," said Larkin. "Well, she said get your gay tail off my bus."
Larkin promptly informed her parents, who helped her file a complaint with her school district. Witnesses, including one who taped the incident, corroborated her account. The bus driver has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
