Houston's lesbian mayoral candidate is riding a wave of support -- a new poll has her leading her opponent by 13 percentage points.

A Rice University poll reports that Houston city controller Annise Parker leads former city attorney Gene Locke 49% to 36%. Should Parker win Saturday's election, Houston would be the largest U.S. city run by an openly gay person.
