Florida governor Charlie Crist is in a neck-and-neck primary race for the state's Republican U.S. Senate nomination, Talking Points Memo reports. Crist was among the elected officials discussed in the documentary Outrage, which weighed the pros and cons of outing closeted politicians.
A new Rasmussen poll shows Crist, a moderate Republican, and his conservative challenger, Marco Rubio, both with 43% support. In October, Crist was ahead by 14 points.
TPM reports that Rubio "has been hammering Crist over his having campaigned alongside President Obama for the stimulus bill," and it seems to be working. The primary is in August.
