Australian track star Jana Rawlinson, who recently underwent breast augmentation surgery, admits that she promptly had the implants removed because of fears that the fake breasts would hinder her upcoming Olympic performance.
The 27-year-old hurdler, a straight mother of one, spoke about her decision with the new issue of Woman's Day magazine, according to The Daily Telegraph.
"Every time I raced I panicked about whether I was letting my country down, all for my own vanity," said Rawlinson.
"I absolutely loved having bigger boobs, but I don't want to short-change Australia either. I want to feel the most athletic I can, to know that I'm standing on the track in London [2012 Olympics] the fittest I can be."
