Recovered after collapsing from dehydration Thursday night, Lady Gaga appeared on Oprah Winfrey's talk show the next day to open up about the symbolism of her provocative fashions.
The Lady elaborated on her wealthy New York City upbringing, her relationship with her father, and her fashion choices -- her VMA performance outfit was a social commentary about Princess Diana, and her Kermit the Frog frock was about the use of fur in fashion.
"The inspiration comes naturally, but I put a lot of time and effort into everything I do to the point that I do nothing else," Gaga told Oprah. "I wake up in the morning and I basically call the Haus of Gaga all day and argue with them about what I want to do while they tell me, 'You can't do that; you can't bleed to death on domestic television.'"
The pop princess gave the queen of daytime a pair of Jean Paul Gaultier sunglasses and a hair bow. Gaga also said she prefers to be called "Gaga" as opposed to "Lady Gaga," saying she does not like the "Lady" part of her name.
Thursday night's show at Purdue University in Indiana was rescheduled for January 26. Gaga's Monday performance at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut was also canceled and will be rescheduled.
