In an in-depth interview given the day after he came out last month and just published Sunday, rugby legend Gareth Thomas tells Wales on Sunday that "I wanna live and laugh as much as I did when I was married."
The Cardiff Blues center was candid in telling the paper about his first encounters with men and said that cheating on his estranged wife, Jenna, was something he would feel guilty about for the rest of his life. But he also talked about his excitement about finding a man to start a relationship with.
He said, "I know a lot of men in the gay world are looking for love. I've done this as well in the hope that I can find somebody.
"I wouldn't be ashamed to walk down the street hand in hand with a man. I don't think it would detract from my masculinity or who I am.
"Externally, I may look like a tough fucker, but emotionally I'm soft as ... I'm caring. I've got a lot of love to give people. I'd love to be in a relationship where I can show affection and love like that."
