New York City police have arrested the man suspected of killing security industry event planner John Lea (pictured) last week. Justin Waller was apprehended Friday in Manchester, Vt., where he awaits extradition on murder charges.

According to The New York Times, the murder was the result of a dispute about the men's living arrangement. The 30-year-old Waller had been living with the the 41-year old Lea, who was gay, in his Hell's Kitchen apartment for a few weeks but not paying rent. The men met at a gym.

"Investigators believed that Mr. Lea wanted Mr. Waller to move out, because Mr. Waller was apparently not paying rent, but Mr. Waller refused to leave, the police said," the Times reported.

Police say Waller confessed to the killing after he was found in Vermont. Lea was found dead in his apartment Thursday with his throat slashed.
