Organizers of the AIDS/LifeCycle are looking for participants for this year's ride.

The weeklong, 545-mile ride will raise money for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center.

"Due to the troubled economy, the demand for HIV prevention and care services has never been greater," AIDS/LifeCycle director Michael Barron said in a press release. "The money we raise from the ride to support those services is more important than ever."

The ride starts in San Francisco June 6 and ends in Los Angeles June 12.

Last year 2,158 riders, with the help of 500 volunteers, helped raise $11,055,000.
