A protest and counterprotest at the College of Charleston in South Carolina involving gays and Jewish people ended peacefully on Tuesday.
Students poured out to counterprotest followers of the Topeka, Kan.-based Westboro Baptist Church, which is virulently antigay and anti-Semitic.
"I know that they're enjoying this right now, but we're enjoying it a lot more," said Joe Quinn, a student who helped organize the counterprotest, according to WCBD News in Charleston. "That's what makes me happy."
