End Coming for Vancouver Comedy Disaster

Either way, it sounds like the worst night out ever: A comedian claims a lesbian heckled him viciously and hurled drinks at him at a Vancouver restaurant in 2007, but the woman denies this and says she was the subject of antigay harassment.

The disputed incident comes to a head this week when the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal hears the case, in which the woman is seeking $20,000 in damages over alleged sexual and antigay discrimination. The comedian, Guy Earle, has repeatedly tried to get the case dismissed to no avail.

Lorna Pardy says Earle subjected her and her girlfriend to verbal taunts related to their appearance, gender, and sexuality. Earle says Pardy and her partner were disruptive and threw two drinks at him.
