The short story "C.O.G." by David Sedaris is set to become the first film adaptation of the acclaimed writer's work, according to the blog Gordon and the Whale. The autobiographical tale that follows Sedaris as he works for a fanatical Christian clockmaker comes from Naked, his 1997 best-selling collection of humorous essays. Kyle Patrick Alvarez, who helmed last year's much-praised film Easier With Practice, has written the screenplay and will direct it himself. "The Santaland Diaries," another short story by Sedaris, was adapted into a one-act stage play in 1996 and is performed perennially during the winter holidays.
