Recasts Bianca

With actress Eden Riegel (pictured, left) now officially on the CBS soap The Young and the Restless, producers at ABC's All My Children have recast the role of Erica Kane's lesbian daughter, Bianca Montgomery.

TV newcomer Christian Bennett Lind (pictured, right) will take over for Riegel in the role starting in mid June. Riegel, who won an Emmy for her work on the soap, left the show last year after her character married her girlfriend, Reese (Emmy-winner Tamara Braun), and moved to France.

The story line made headlines as daytime television's first same-sex wedding. Bianca came out in 2001 to her mother, Erica (played by Susan Lucci). The show won critical acclaim and praise from gay groups for its portrayal of an out lesbian in a leading role.

All My Children executive producer Julie Carruthers said she is in talks with Braun to return to the show, but for now no deal has been made.
