Actress and animal activist Pamela Anderson is now trying her hand at comedy and her act includes material that pokes fun at her many gay friends.

The star is doing stand-up this week at Montreal's Just for Laughs festival. On Thursday, Anderson cracked, "Out in Calgary they are having a rodeo festival -- the Stampede -- where grown men actually tie a strap around a struggling animal's crotch and then climb onto his back and see if they can last eight seconds until they're thrown off. It's not just cruel -- it's freaky. I was going to say it's really gay, but I spend a lot of time in West Hollywood, and the most hardcore gays I know don't even do that to each other. And when they ride, it lasts for a lot longer than eight seconds."

Anderson took a few shots at herself: "I know gay pride was here in Montreal last week. Woo-hoo! It's so nice that Canadian gays can get married. In California, it's not allowed, which is a bummer. Although I've got to say that after my last few husbands, my mom is begging me to be gay."

Anderson, a supporter of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, concluded the show, which will air on national television this fall, by taking the stage in a seal costume and saying, "Before I leave, I wanted to change into my clubbing outfit."
