Allen Ginsberg's longtime New York apartment can be yours for just $1,700 a month.

The apartment Ginsberg lived in from 1975 to 1996 is on the market. It's one of three he had in the building -- he lived in this one, worked in another, and sublet the third to friends and students.

Located on the fourth floor at 437 E. 12th St., the apartment has been renovated. The Allen Ginsberg Project got a look inside, and a former neighbor whose apartment overlooked Ginsberg's kitchen shared this memory on Blah Blog Blah:

"We didn't bother with each other much, but he'd take photos of my shirtless carpenter boyfriend when he'd use the fire escape for an impromptu workshop. You never knew who'd be gathered around his kitchen table: a PBS film crew, a minion of men with black garb and payis chanting Sabbath prayers, etc. I never took photos of him, but Allen with his robe open illuminated by refrigerator light is burned into my retina, for better or worse! After he left, I found myself missing him."
