Univision Pulls Antigay Poll

Over the weekend editors at Univision.com posted a poll asking readers, "Is homosexuality compatible with sports?" After meeting with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, the poll has been removed, and Univision's sports editor has issued an apology.

The poll question ran with multiple answers, including. "No, soccer is a sport for macho men." GLAAD's director of Spanish-langauge media reached out to Univision Monday to explain why the poll was offensive, and it was removed Tuesday.

Univision's antigay poll ran just days after a poll on CNN asked readers, "Is the surge in gay TV characters 'bad for society'?" That poll was also yanked amid pressure from GLAAD and various media outlets.
