Paladino: Cuomo's Gay Support Lacking

Republican New York gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino's (pictured, left) campaign sent out an e-mail attacking his Democratic opponent, Andrew Cuomo (pictured, right), for not doing enough to support gay rights, just days after Paladino criticized Cuomo for bringing his kids to a gay pride parade.

Talking Points Memo reports that Paladino's e-mail references the New York Democrats who spoke out in support of same-sex marriage last year, adding, "But the state's most popular Democrat, Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo, was all but visible."

Last Sunday, however, Paladino was videotaped saying that he doesn't want children "to be brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid or successful option. It isn't." The following day he criticized Cuomo for taking his kids to a gay pride parade, where, he says, there are "men in Speedos, grinding and doing things to each other."
