A gay bar located in an air raid shelter in Shanghai may be closed because of noisy customers whose loud outdoor sex has drawn complaints.

According to Shanghai Daily, the Shanghai Studio bar will be closed soon by its landlord, the Changning District Air Defense Bureau, if complaints from nearby residents persist.

The basement-level air raid shelter was rented to the bar three years ago, and a local security guard alleged that an "advanced infrared surveillance system" had captured two men having sex outside the bar in a dark corner.

A spokesman for the landlord said Shanghai Studio has been sent a final warning, although he added that no evidence of illegal business was ever found during surprise spot checks of the establishment. He said that rent money from the bar was used to maintain other air raid shelters in the town.

Shanghai Studio management said sex was banned at the bar and that more security guards would be sent to patrol outside the bar at night.
