Thirty to 40 people have gathered outside Midland High School in Arkansas's Independence County on Thursday -- some protesting, and some supporting, the actions of antigay school board member Clint McCance.

KTHV in Little Rock reports that "former students of the school, the gay and lesbian group UCA Prism from the University of Central Arkansas, and people from Little Rock and Fayetteville" are part of the protest. There are also McCance supporters "waving American flags and the flag of the Baptist Church."

McCance posted last week on his Facebook page that "queers" and "fags" should kill themselves.
