Out actor David Moretti, who starred in the occult series The Lair, will make his New York stage debut as Andrew, a happy groom in the hit off-Broadway comedy My Big Gay Italian Wedding. Moretti will take over for Reichen Lehmkuhl, who will depart the production on November 13.

"I am thrilled to join the company of My Big Gay Italian Wedding," says Moretti, a frequent contributor to Advocate.com. "I love this show because audiences get to see how a gay man and his family can be just as loving, cantankerous, and crazy as any other family out there. It's hilarious and it has got such a positive message, and with same-sex marriage, 'don't ask, don't tell,' and cyberbullying running throughout today's headlines, that message could not be any more timely.

Moretti starred as Thom for three seasons in the Here! TV series The Lair and will next be seen in theaters in the romantic comedy Finding Mr. Wright, due in 2011.
