The Senate race in Washington State has been declared for Democratic incumbent Patty Murray, while the Connecticut governor's race appears to be going to Democrat Dan Malloy.

The Associated Press via The Washington Post reports that Murray has won a fourth term, narrowly defeating Republican challenger Dino Rossi. Murray has supported gay rights, including voting for the Matthew Shepard hate-crimes bill and voting against a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.

Across the nation, the Connecticut race for governor seems to be coming to a conclusion, with The Washington Post declaring Democrat Dan Malloy (pictured, right) is heading to a narrow victory. Ballot shortages and a hand recount delayed the results, but with tallies now in from Bridgeport, the state's largest city, Malloy appears to have bested Tea Partyer Tom Foley.

Malloy supports Connecticut's marriage equality law.
