CNN anchor Anderson Cooper spent a chunk of his show Monday night discussing the firing of Michigan assistant attorney general Andrew Shirvell, who was released from his position for "conduct unbecoming a state employee."

Shirvell, who harassed University of Michigan student government president Chris Armstrong, who is gay, was let go from the attorney general's office Monday. Shirvell's lawyer accused the "liberal media" of launching attacks against his client.
