Racy photos of California representative Mary Bono Mack have surfaced, featuring a female campaign donor licking the congresswoman's breast.
The photos feature donor and disgraced former billionaire Edra Blixseth, who is currently at the center of an FBI investigation. According to RadarOnline, which obtained the photos, the supposed lick happened at an "out-of-control event" four years ago at Blixseth's $75 million estate. She donated $4,500 to Bono Mack's congressional reelection campaigns, according to The Desert Sun.
Bono Mack, 49, is the widow of late music icon and congressman Sonny Bono, who died in 1998. She took his position shortly after his death. She is also the stepmother of Chaz Bono.
Bono Mack, a Republican, represents California's 45th congressional district, which includes Palm Springs.
When asked for comment, Bono Mack's, chief of staff, Frank Cullen said in a one-line statement, "It raises the question, what kind of people push a story like this?"
Gay conservative group GOProud endorsed Bono Mack's reelection campaign against challenger Steve Pougnet, a gay Democrat who is mayor of Palm Springs. The organization hailed her for her record on foreign policy, her opposition to "government-run health care that would discriminate against gays and lesbians," and her votes against an antigay federal marriage amendment. Bono Mack voted in favor of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act. She also said Congress should pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which would provide certain antidiscrimination protections for gay workers. Bono Mack, however, voted against the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell" in the spring, when it was attached to the defense spending bill, but voted in favor of the stand-alone repeal bill in December.
During the most recent session of Congress, the representative scored 39% on the Human Rights Campaign's Congressional Scorecard. She scored 75% and 55% during the 109th and 110th Congresses, respectively.
Porcupine Creek, Blixseth's 18,000-square-foot estate in Rancho Mirage, Calif., which has hosted several events for Bono Mack, is now for sale. While the FBI is investigating Blixeth's financial activities, no charges have been filed against her.
