Despite DNA evidence and a videotaped confession, a Bronx, N.Y., jury acquitted a man dubbed the "Nude Housekeeper" of fatally stabbing a client in 2001.

According to New York's Daily News, the 41-year-old was free Tuesday night for the first time since his 2007 arrest on charges of killing paralegal John Conley. DNA evidence linked him to the scene, but Cordero said at his trial that he was coerced by a detective into making a confession.

He claimed he had never been in Conley's apartment and said he feared cops would sodomize him with a broomstick if he didn't confess.

In his taped confession, Cordero claimed Conley tried to rape him. He said he stabbed him with a knife in self-defense.

Cordero was reportedly in tears after the jury reached its verdict. After thanking the jury, he vowed to find a new profession.
