Christina Aguilera was arrested in West Hollywood Tuesday morning for public intoxication, according to TMZ.
The singer was riding in the car with her boyfriend Matthew Rutler, who was arrested with a DUI. According to law enforcement sources, Aguilera appeared to be "extremely intoxicated" and was "unable to take care of herself."
Tabloids have reported friends of the "Beautiful" singer have been trying to get her to check into a rehab facility for months. According to reports, Aguilera would not have been arrested if her driver hadn't been drunk.
According to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, Rutler's bail was set at $30,000.
Aguilera was arrested at 2:45 AM and booked at the West Hollywood Sheriff's substation on a misdemeanor charge.
