“Sinner” Teacher “Dealt With”

A California high school teacher who allegedly called a lesbian student a "sinner" in front of the entire class has been "dealt with," according to district officials.

"Based on our findings, we have dealt with the employee," Leslie Ventuleth, the chief human resources officer for the Perris Union High School District chief, told CBS Los Angeles, though she wouldn't elaborate on how the teacher had been punished.

The Paloma Valley High School teacher, whose name has not been made public, allegedly drew an S on the hand of a student who wore a "Gay Is Good" T-shirt and repeatedly referred to the student as a "sinner" in front of her classmates.

It was one of many complaints of antigay behavior at the school submitted last week to school and district administrators by a group of concerned teachers and students.
