Antigay Attack Reported at Swarthmore
Police are investigating an antigay attack on two men that occurred on the campus of Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania Sunday.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the campus community was informed about the attack in a letter from the dean of students Elizabeth Braun on Tuesday. An unidentified student and his friend were attacked by high school-age students on Mertz Field as they were being affectionate with each other.
"The student reported that he and his friend were punched and knocked to the ground, and then were repeatedly kicked and stomped by at least five boys and one girl, Braun said," according to the Inquirer.
The victims were not seriously injured.
Dean Braun warned students to be careful in anticipation of what the Inquirer called "an annual campus cross-dressing party" scheduled at Swarthmore this weekend.
