Appeals Court: School Right to Fire Teacher Seeking Sex on Craigslist
A California appeals court upheld the firing of a San Diego teacher who posted an ad on Craigslist with naked pictures of himself in the site's "men seeking men" section.
The fourth district court of appeals overturned a decision by the Commission on Professional Competence that the San Diego Unified School District didn't have sufficient reason to fire Frank Lampedusa, a teacher at Farb Middle School, according to theLos Angeles Times.
The appeals court sided with the school district, saying Lampedusa's behavior fit the education code's definition of "immoral conduct."
In the ad, Lampedusa posted naked photos of himself and a graphic description of the types of activities he enjoys in the bedroom. He did not list his name or the name of the school.
