First Lady's Jet Avoids Runway Clash
A plane with first lady Michelle Obama on board was involved in a close call with a 200-ton military cargo jet when it was attempting to land at Joint Base Andrews Monday.
Controllers at Andrews Air Force Base were concerned the cargo jet would not clear in time to make room on the runway for her plane, a Boeing 737 that is part of the presidential fleet of jets, according to The Washington Post.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the news of the incident late Tuesday.
