Man Arrested For “Gay-Free Zone” Stickers

A U.K. man was arrested and charged after distributing homophobic stickers around London's East End.

Targeted to schools and pubs and around the city's Whitechapel, Shoreditch, and Poplar areas over five days in February, the stickers featured a rainbow flag with a line through it and the message "Arise and warn. Gay free zone. And Fear Allah; Verily Allah is severe in punishment."

Mohammed Hasnath, 18, of Leamouth, Tower Hamlets, is accused of violating section 5 of the Public Order Act, which prohibits harassment, alarm, or distress.
