One of the breakout stars of the new season of HGTV's Design Star is Leslie Ezelle, an out breast cancer survivor and former cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys.
Ezelle is the show's first lesbian contestant in six seasons. She tells SheWired (The Advocate's sister website) that her own Dallas interior design business has boomed since the show began airing recently. Ezelle also shares some cheerleader stories and discusses her work with the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation.
Should Ezelle win Design Star, she would get her own show on the network.
