The Pop-Up Museum of Queer History, an innovative way to display LGBT history in temporary spaces throughout New York, is gearing up for a new show in Soho that will feature studies on gay musician Billy Strayhorn, the "wimmin's" separatist movement, the White Night Riots, the Mattachine Society, and Peter Sewally, a 19th-century transgender person.

Following Pop-Up Brooklyn in January, Pop-Up Soho runs from August 6 through 25 at the Leslie/Lohman Gay Art Foundation, 26 Wooster St. Besides Leslie/Lohman, the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies at the City University of New York is also sponsoring the exhibit, which includes an opening reception, movie screenings, a music recital, and two new plays.
