At the University of Texas at Austin, individuals will soon be able to choose gender-neutral bathrooms.

The one-stall bathrooms will be useful not only for transgender people but also those with disabilities and parents with young children.

Linda Millstone, the associate vice president for the office of institutional equity and workforce diversity, said "If I am a woman in a wheelchair and my attendant is a male, where am I supposed to go?" in an interview with the campus newspaper, The Daily Texan.

Pat Clubb, vice president for university operations, agreed that gender-neutral restrooms are a priority and will be available in all existing campus buildings.
