Ann Coulter: Self-Proclaimed "Queen of Fabulous"
Gay conservative group GOProud announced today that right-wing pundit Ann Coulter will serve as an honorary chair of the organization's advisory council.
"I am honored to serve in this capacity on GOProud's Advisory Council, and look forward to being the Queen of Fabulous," Coulter said in a statement.
Serving under the title "Gay Icon," Coulter has been credited by GOProud chairman Christopher Barron with putting the group on the map.
GOProud's advisory council also includes Margaret Hoover, Grover Norquist, and Andrew Breitbart.
"Ann Coulter is a brilliant and fearless leader of the conservative movement, we are honored to have her as part of GOProud's leadership," Barron said in a press release. He added, "Politics is full of the meek, the compromising, and the apologists -- Ann, like GOProud, is the exact opposite of all those things. We need more Ann Coulters."
Two days before the announcement, Coulter told C-SPAN that she didn't expect she would have so many gay fans. After giving reasons that gay people should inherently be conservative voters, she also said, "As soon as liberals find a gay gene, guess who's going to get aborted?"
