By now reality TV lovers know that when America's Next Top Model returns for its new season September 14, they'll find the All-Stars -- contestants from seasons past that fans already either love or hate. Now the CW's new promo for the show is reminding all that the front-runner is transgender model Isis King. A contestant from cycle 11 in 2008, King was personally plucked from obscurity by Tyra Banks and cast as the first trans woman ever to compete on Top Model, as noted by Entertainment Weekly.

In cycle 11, King's fellow contestants weren't always knowledgeable about trans issues, which undermined the model's chance of winning and helped get her booted from the show. But after the season ended, Banks paid for King's medical expenses, including gender-reassignment surgeries, completed in 2009.

Now the young woman is, says EW, a force to be reckoned with, as you'll see from this new ad, "complete with totally intense eyes."
