Bobby Cannavale, perhaps best known as Vince, boyfriend to Eric McCormack's character on Will & Grace, has been cast as Nick Arnstein opposite Lauren Ambrose's Fanny Brice in the revival of Funny Girl.

Cannavale has solid stage credentials, having earned two Tony Award nominations for Mauritius and The Motherfucker With the Hat. While appearing on Will & Grace, he won an Emmy award as Outstanding Guest Star in a Comedy Series in 2005. He has appeared in dozens of films, plays, and television programs; another of Cannavale's most notable credits is as one of Samantha's more memorable (and funky-smelling) sex partners on HBO's Sex and the City. He also appeared on an episode of HBO's Six Feet Under, which starred Ambrose as disaffected teen Claire Fisher.

The role of Arnstein, based on the second husband of entertainer Fanny Brice, was originated in the 1964 Broadway production by Sydney Chaplin, opposite Barbra Streisand. Omar Sharif took the role in the 1968 film version, with Streisand re-creating her superstar-making vehicle.

Funny Girl will begin previews at Los Angeles's Ahmanson Theatre January 15 and is scheduled to run through February 26.
