It's been a very good few weeks for the folks behind the beloved gay-friendly family comedy Modern Family. Ed O'Neill, who plays Jay Pritchett, a slightly curmudgeonly father to a repressed gay son, a neurotic daughter, and a prescient stepson (and grandpa to their collective kin, including gayby Lily) was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Aug. 30. O'Neil was surrounded by cast past and present, and his television wives -- Sofia Vergara (from Modern Family) and Katey Sagal (from Married...With Children) -- presented the award.

Today the highly anticipated Blu-ray and DVD release of Modern Family: The Complete Second Season hit stores just in time for fans to catch up with the series' shenanigans before tomorrow's premier of season three. It comes complete with deleted family interviews, extended and deleted scenes, a hilarious gag reel, and a music video. Debate about a sophomore slump all you like, but gay dads Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) have never been better.

The icing on the cake? The show won a collective five Emmy Awards Sept. 18, including Outstanding Comedy Series, and Outstanding Actor, Actress, Writing, and Directing in the Comedy Series category.

Do you need another reason to set your TiVo tomorrow?
