Los Angeles's power lesbians are convening to celebrate the year in film this weekend with grub by Top Chefs, cocktails from master mixologists, and mingling with celesbians.
Event cochair Cherie Song said the Outfest Women's Soiree was created "to bring the women of Outfest together to celebrate their accomplishments and contributions to our organization and encourage them to continue this tradition."
Avantika Shahi, a cochair and host of the event, said the soiree is a perfect way to celebrate the accomplishments of lesbian and bisexual women. She added that there may be more regular networking events to connect more media-minded people.
"I'm really excited to be hosting the first event at our house," she said. "I get to meet 100 great women and don't have to leave my house!"
Celebrity chefs Gloria Felix (Hell's Kitchen) from Reservoir, Susan Feniger from Street, Dora Herrara from the popular local Yuca's, and Jamie Lauren (Top Chef) from Vodvil promise to deliver a tasty smorgasbord of treats.
